Try the diagnostic tools as Slay posted above. They do more testing than Windows chkdsk does.

By default, C&Q is enabled. Slay wants you to disable it.

Not even waking up and smelling the coffee?
 
Yep, +1 to MoM, C&Q is enabled on several newer motherboards by default, and if the proper C&Q drivers (Been a long time since I have toyed with C&Q) aren't installed, then you get strange errors. Make sure your motherboard has it disabled in the BIOS, just because you didn't touch it doesn't mean its not turned on.
