anyways, it says that it's just like the HD 2900 XT with HDMI 5.1 surround sound, but recommends that you still need to have a sound card or integrated audio, and preferably high-definition.

from the performance reviews, HDMI port on 8800GTS will be useless as media centers will buy 8600 series or HD 2600 series for cheaper and better High definition performance. 2600 already have a DVI to hdmi adapter not sure about the 8600's so all that does is save you $20 on a an adapter.
