Default Yet Another "Rate this build" thread

Well since my plan of ordering a barebones kit from cyberpower didnt work out, I'm left building one on my own. This is what I've decided on so far, please let me know what you guys think and what changes you would make. I'd like to keep this build closer to $1,000 so suggestions that would shave off a few dollars are much appreciated Also, am I correct in assuming that this will handle Crysis on very high with a playable frame rate?

I've kind of got my heart set on the crossfire as I'm playing at 1920x1200 and sometimes hook my computer up to my 60" TV, I may go with a dual monitor setup in the near future as well. In one of the newegg reviews for the card I picked though it says it takes up 2 slots... Will I even be able to crossfire with that particular 4850? If there is a single card out there that is roughly the same price ($400) that will perform better, let me know. As for the CPU, I'm still not sure if I want to go with the quad core or a cheaper, faster dual core. I will be overclocking this computer regardless of what I get but I probably wont go crazy with it, I know the dual cores OC better but would a quad core be better in the long run?

Like I said though, I'd like to keep this build around $1000 but it currently sits at $1240...

4870x2 if u can drop an extra 150

the build you have is 800 without the video card, and all those parts are fine... the ram has a nice rebate on it right now too.

either go with a 4850, 4870, or 4870x2, depending on how much you're willing to spend

Get a 4870 and keep the Corsair as they are really good.

Change the CPU to a E8400/E8500 if you want a bit of a performance gain, otherwise keep the q6600 and overclock it, 4 cores will be handy down the line.

Good build.

the thing about crossfire on this board is it wont be at full 16x bandwidth, the second card only 8x, so is probably better to buy one 4870, unless you want to go x38/48 for full 16x bandwidth.

I decided on this motherboard Newegg.com - ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards Think that would work fine?

Also, is there ANYTHING at all I would need to build this computer other than what I have listed?

The pro version is great if you can afford it.

Everything seems good to go.

one 4870 is bueno. 4870 x2 are having numerous driver problems. as far as "very high playable framerate" that depends on your resolution. which is...?
a single 4850 will probably struggle with very high crysis at anything over 1280.
