Yet another 9800GX2 thread

*sighs* bought a 8800gts 512 hoping for step up also...please let there be a miracle! freakin 512 can barely keep up with 1680x1050 for some reason...o well.
something better please come out in 5 days!

Ya, my stepup expires on the 15th. Thanks nvidia for screwing me over by 3 days. Although if the price ends up 599 for the gx2 like i'm hearing, that probably would have killed the stepup anyway.

i dunno about that one.. my antec trio 650 watt was having a hard time w/ dual gtx's... 3 hdd's and an oc'd q6600

my computer started randomly restarting once i shoved in my 2nd gtx.... i ended up taking my audigy out and it was running just fine after that.. so i barely had enough juice to run it all.. if my compy wasnt oc'd it ran just fine as well

but a 2.4ghz quad definitely is a bottleneck to 2 8800gtx's...

i dunno about that one... i'm pretty sure these consume more power than a single 8800gtx.. and after what i jsut said... ain't gonna happen.. unless ur running 1 hard drive and not overclocking w/ no soundcard... i've got 650 watts, 80 % efficiency, and 57amps... and i couldnt run dual gtx unless i was bone stock on everything

but anywho.. check out that sexy bad boy of a 9800gtx... 2 6pin.. no way its just slightly better than a 8800gts 512mb... i foresee a tremendous amount of oc room here... 800+mhz oc!?>!

i dunno.. w/ the 9600gt doing great w/ 64sp.. and this w/ 128.. and possibly using the same technologies.... and whats the purpose of this being longer than the current 8800gtx?! and having 2 6-pin connectors... now i'm not getting my hopes up... but i pray for nvidia that this is not just a 8800gts
