3870CF Vs. 8800GT SLi

crossfire in crysis doesn't perform as well as it should, because of drivers. There aren't many drivers out for the 3870's in general yet, let alone for crossfire.

I'd expect performance increases for 3870's with new drivers. In most games, the drivers probably won't make a big difference; however there are a few games (like Crysis) which should benifit significantly.

That's what I thought as well, but the new catalyst 7.11 drivers actually reduced performance in games.

with which card(s)?

Some new drivers will actually perform worse than older ones. It happens with Nvidia, too.

Crossfire still got its bugs to work out in DX10.

Don't forget theres also the 3870X2 coming out almost the same price and time as well.
