Default X2 Opteron in gaming?

Is the Dual Core Opteron 175 (2.2GHz, 2x2mb L2) a better choice in a gaming rig that an X2 4400+ (2.2, 2x1mb)?

I was planning on an X2 3800+, but there isn't a huge price jump to something better. First-time build coming up in about January. I posted before, but my thread got eaten...

never mind about that, i didn't google it before i posted. it would appear that the x2 4400+ is better.

First time build coming up in January, this is what i have now:

Antec p180 case

AMD Athlon 64 x2 44000+

Antec Neo-HE 500w PSU

DFI LAN-Party SLI-DR

SONY DRU000A CD/DVD-RW

SONY DDU161288B DVD drive

SATA II Seagate 160gb, 7200rpm, 8mb, NCQ

SATA Seagate 250gb, 7200rpm, 8mb, NCQ

XFX 7800GTX, Factory OC'd to 490Mhz, 256MB

OCZ PC3200 2x512MB EB DC Platinum

Zalman CNPS7700-Cu CPU Cooler

SilenX 120mm Fan

Logitech G7 Laser Cordless Mouse

Saitek Eclipse Gaming Keyboard

Zalman ZM-RS6F Headphones

Creative Audigy 2 ZS

it comes to $3533 (Australian), which is right at the end of my budget. Are there any things in there that need changing?
Thanks

It would appear from that, and all the other places on the net debating the same question that there isn't really much of a difference. That review makes it look like the 4400+ would perform a bit better in gaming. Either way, i don't think it makes a huge difference.

Well, If you plan on overclocking, I'd go with the Opteron, I have a 170 and got it to 2.6 Ghz(So far, but I think I'm going to stay there and just try lowering vcore a tad)

If you're not overclocking, The 4400+ X2 is like 20 dollars less, anyway.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be overclocking. I'll just go with the 4400+, and save a bit of money. It's hard to find eVGA GPUs in aust for some reason. I'm going with the XFX as it is factory OC'd to 490MHz, which i think is the same as the eVGA. Also it is a fair bit cheaper than the eVGA, at AU$869
