i have an x2 3800+ with a 7800gt and i can play doom 3 with full settings at 1600x1200 16x AF 2x AA at 85 frames per second

if you want to get a single core and upgrade later, that is your choice. in my experience, dual core runs just fine :-D

yes. a 3000+ is generally considered enough for gaming (although i say 3200+). the x2 3800+ is 2x3200+ cores. a simple overclock and it gets better

i think we all agree that the FX series AMD has is the 31337 gamers series ( lol )

the FX-60 is dual core!
