no, actually, im not. it depends on the application. and most applications in which a 3ghz 6300 does outperform the higher end x2's, its not by very much. i haven't seen a legitimate benchmark comparison between the 5200 and the 6300. the only real review of both compared that i have found was from anandtech comparing the 4800(or may have been 4600) stock to a 6300 oc'd to like 2.9 somethin and also stock. and the differences were not that massive in most cases. and in some cases the amd won. in a good number of the stock comparisons the difference was negligible.
so, no i dont think that a 6300 will kick the crap out of a 6000. aint gonna happen. except in superpi (woot), and maybe a couple other useless things.
i would be interested to see the comparison of a 3ghz 3600(65nm) to a 3ghz 6300. i imagine the difference would be even smaller.
but, i do agree that if you are going to overclock, a c2d would be the way to.
some people say they are easier, but i did not have too much trouble with my 4200.
EDIT: sorry bout the double post. didnt really give the reasons in my first.
