Default X-Fi Extreme Gamer stopped working

I had my X-Fi extremegamer fatality installed in my 680i and it worked great. Then I switched out my 680i for my new 780i and my X-Fi no longer works. The little red emblem light turns on but the creative utility does not recognize the card and neither does my computer. Anybody know what might be the problem?

Did you try reinstalling the software/drivers?

Yup, nothing changed. Uninstalled and reinstalled everything.

sounds like you havn't disabled the onboard sound in your bios, some mobo's allow them both to work at the same time but some don't.

I tried reseating it and even moving it to a different PCI slot. I was looking through the BIOS but couldnt find anything about onboard sound. Where would it be?

there should just be a item called onboard sound, and if you go to it you can enable or disable it.

Just figured out that's not the problem. I tried to reinstall the drivers again and it says that the supported device is not detected. Ugh this is frustrating.
