as far as i know ( and i base this off of nothing cause i havnt wasted a second of my life playing wow ) over time WoW graphics have gotten better, and since its release has become more difficult to play.

$1800 - $2200 can build you a insanely beastly computer that can max out any game at max resolution comfortably.

With the 5870 most of the time you'll be sitting around 100fps+? The thing is though even though you'll spend most of your time ideling in orgimmar or stormwind (god forbid). So it's not like the 5870 will be contantly struggling to push out 60fps.

The moment you step into Dalaran though or a 25 man raid is when your card is really put to the test. Your current rig should be able to handle WoW no problem. Besides you'll be more worried about maintaining your rotation come raid time.
