Would love a second opinion on this build

Hey,

I'm buying a new computer; mainly for gaming purposes.

Basically, I want a rig capable of handling today's games on high quality settings.

I had a friend put some hardware together, but I'd love a second opinion from you guys!

I also have a question regarding Windows 8. Is it any good? Is it necessary? Would I be better off with W7? I have no experience with Windows 8 and I hear some bad stuff about it, but there are always the haters.

I'd trade that 7970 out for something like a GTX 670 or 680.

Also, most will tell you Windows 7 is better. I tend to agree.

Swap the 7970 for an eVGA 680.

Drop the PSU to the TX650.

Drop the CPU cooler. If you plan to OC any at all then you will want something better.

+1 to Windows 7 here.

If you can push it I would swap out the SSD for an 830/840pro or Corsair.

If you are happy using Win7 theres really no need to go for Win8 or the hassle of learning the OS which is basically aimed at mobile.

Regarging the keyboard, do you see yourself using all the features of the keyboard especially while gaming? If your answer is no, I would recommend spending that money for something else like for example a 24" inch monitor instead of the 21" that is on the list, but thats just my opinion.

I agree with iFargle go for a GTX 670 or GTX 680.

I might be blind but I think your friend forgot to include on the list some RAM.
