Default Would this build work? Is it worth it?

Ok so I want to upgrade my computer and it would cost me like $850 with the following:

Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...13136152
$130

Processor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...19103535
$163

RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...20145480
$86

Power Supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...17103931
$90

Sound Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...29102162
$100

Video Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...14130258
$190

Hard Drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...22144701
$110

Floppy Drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...21103203
$9

**I only want the floppy so it matches my black case. It's white right now and I don't like it.

I want to know if it is really worth it when compared to what I have for that price. I have:

Processor - P4 1.8 ghz
RAM - 512mb
Vid Card - 9700 PRO ATI 128mb
HD - 80gb Seagate
Mobo - old hand me down Iwill
Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster Live

I mean, I've only used 25gb of my current hard drive. The video card seems to work good with any games or videos I've watched. The sound seems fine to me. And runing multiple things isn't that slow. And will the new processor even make a difference?

Like, if I were to buy those upgrades, would I really be able to tell a big difference, or would it only be minimal?

I play games, use it for multimedia (music, pictures, video), and office type stuff like browsing the web and doing homework. There is only one current game I might want to try and play, Battlefield 2. But I don't want to upgrade just for that one game, if I won't see overall performance increase.

Any tips? Better parts to choose? Should I do it? Anything to Say?

Thanks for your time, I really appreaciate it,

Kyle

you know, if your computer is meeting your requirements, I wouldn't jump to a new system yet. Wait to see what the next round of computers offers. M2 socket is coming...

That's a good idea. I think I might do that, but I want to do this though.

I would suggest wait a little longer when the M2 socket hit the market alot of the Socket 939 cpus will be dropping in prices which means better parts for you. But if you have to buy now i recommend

MSI K8N Neo-4
AMD Athlong 64 3500+
1GB Corsair Valueselect
eVGA 6800GS
Thermaltake Soprano
Antec Truepower 2 400-500w
