Worth upgrading 8600gt?

So I would see a noticeable difference?

I mostly play Guitar Hero, but plan on playing GTA IV and Total War.

with a 9800gt you will notice a huge diff. the 9800gt will wipe the floor with a 8600gt.

according to these charts the 4830 is not beat by the 9800gt

Anadtech retested the 4830 using the correct bios with all of the SMID's enabled and it beat the 9800gt in every game except oblivion.

So I am basically looking for a 9800gt or a 4830, or above? I wish they numbered those things better to make it easier to tell which is the best.

Quick question. Will this improve the quality of the dvd's that I play on my screen? I noticed that they have been a little blocky.

So, what I am looking for is at least 512 mb DDR3 memory (is 1gb worth it?), a core clock of at least 600 mhz, memory clock of at least 1800 mhz, HDTV / S-video?

Are there any other numbers that I should look for? What about ATI numbers, I am not very familiar with them.

Oh, forgot to mention I have a 500w PSU.

Don't worry about the specs of the card.. take the one is best for bang for the buck because the specs are very misleading

So it's not going to matter much if the 9800gt is oc'd a bit by 50 or 75 mhz?

Just look for the cheapest brand name 9800gt or 4830?

Will this improve my dvd watching experience and is 500w enough? I have a Dell SP2208WFP.

um xfx and evga have lifetime warrenty so go with them for a nvidia graphcs card.

bfg is also good alltho they wont cover you changing your cooler.
