Windows 64... do or die?

hey guys, me again, just wondring but i got a 64 ASROCK SATA2 939, and a 64 processor, now the mobo says it is compatible with 64 (according to manual) im not sure about my AMD 64 3700+ San Diego however... so does anyone out there know if 64 bit hardwares are still compatible with 32 software... and if so is it like able to okay or does running 64bit hardware on windows XP (32) Like EXTREMLY SUCKY AND HORRIBLE AND THERE WILL BE A MASSIVE PREOFRMANCE DIFFERENCE AHHH!!!

Yeah dont worry all Athlons can run in 32-bit and 64-bit mode with no performance loss

64-bit is really only used when you're making very intense graphic models, and stuff of that nature.

If you're not going to do that then dont buy Windows 64.
