I had my doubts at first about the 4830's, but then I found this review.

Radeon HD 4830 review HIS technology

It seems the 4830 performs very close to the 4850 when it comes to gaming and since its RV770 (LE) it should be able to scale AMAZING in Crossfire. Yeah I know not ALL games support crossfire. But for those games that don't, then a single 4830 should be able to handle them anyways @ reasonable resolutions.

So the PSU in question is an Antec Earth Watt 380 Watts just like Rican has. I remember Rican had 8800 GT's in SLI and his power supply was enough. But I m wondering if it will be able to handle 4830's in Crossfire.

380W should be enough (you need at least 16A on the 12V rail)... it should draw around 350W at load but that kinda depends on what CPU you wanna use with it... i wouldn't wanna push the OCs too much, but a 380W PSU should be sufficient, because most PSUs are slightly underrated anyways

So a 125 TDP Quad Core + 4830's in Crossfire should be fine on an Antec Earth Watts 380 Watts?

****!! I m not regretting buying the 380 if that's the case.

The earthwatts 380 is a beast.

I have both 8800GT's in there running on full load and overclocked 24/7 with a 65watt tdp cpu.

I wouldn't want to try it. 2x 8800gt's and a 65w dual core is one thing but 2x4830's and a 125w quad is quite a bit more.

His cards consume ~27 more watts at load each and his cpu consumes 60 more watts. I would consider an additional 114 watts pushing it.

Those were 8800GT stock.

Mine are both oc'd over 150mhz each...not to mention i also have an hd, four fans, hard drive cooler and fan controller hooked up as well. Oh and the dvd drive of course.

Still dont break 300. I need to get a killawatt meter so i can see how much is being used.
