Default Will an i7 930 at stock bottle neck an HD 6970?

just wondering becuase iam planning on buying the 6970 in a few days. i want to avoid overclocking but i have the cooler if i need to. current load temps are 63 degrees
if i need to oc, what speed?

Your i7 930 may bottleneck the 6970 very slightly, but a small cpu overclock in the 3.5GHz to 3.8GHz range should eliminate the possibility.

If the 930 is anything like the 920s, you should be able to overclock easily on stock voltage. I'm running my 920 at 4.4 on stock voltage.

i just read in another forum that a core i5 750 would not bottleneck a single 6970. Will the i5 750 bottleneck a 6970? therfore the i7 930 will not bottleneck it right?

That would make sense. The i7's are quite powerful, and generally games don't feed on the cpu's nearly as much as gpu's.
