I have a $700 Budget but I already have ram and psu

The 9800 GX2 is 285 and thats why I picked it

I figured id be better having a e7200 with a 9800gx2 than a q6600 and a 4850

Thanks in advance

EDIT: How is this Hard Drive?

SEAGATE Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS Hard Drive Bulk at ZipZoomfly

PSU: Corsair 520hx
Ram: 2gb Ballistix

Switch the thermal paste to Tuniq TX-2, its cheaper and better.

Newegg.com - Tuniq TX-2 Cooling Thermal Compound - Thermal Compound / Grease

Don't get ballistix, they switched to single sided and aren't very good. I would get these Patriot Vipers.

Newegg.com - Patriot Viper 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

That Seagate Hard drive is good and fast.

I already bought my ballistix way back and they're the 2 sided ones

I got enought money for a q6600 so would it be better if I buy a q6600 with a 9800 GX2

How will this play in a resolution of 1280 x 1024?

EDIT: Which card is better the 4870, 9800 gx2 or the gtx 260

I want something cheap but with good performance the only thing I don't like about the 9800 gx2 is that it relies on sli

Why are you getting a 9800GX2 to play at 1280X1024, its quite overkill.

You could get an HD 4850, about the same performance as a 9800GX2 in games that don't support Dual-Core GPU's and it could be useful though

9800GX2 (if the game supports Dual-GPU's)> 4870 > GTX 260 > 9800GX2 (if not supporting Dual-GPU)

So the 4870 is a better buy? Eventually ill get a 24 inch monitor at 1920x1200 but for now I have to play with my 17 inch monitor.

Which card is best at 1920x1200? At the latest iam getting my 24 inch monitor by christmas...

go for the gx2 if you can afford it... i'm sure 9800gx2 outdoes the 4870.. as its on par with a gtx280

i loved my gx2.. it was a godsend of a card.. massive power.. and massive fps... i loved it.. im' almost willing to get windows vista to do quad sli

unless you plan on crossfire later.. then get the 4870

Nos- I have a Corsair 520 hx I believe it can handle it. The thing I don't like is the fact that it's 2 cards in one... Did you have any microstutters or anything that made you regret buying it?

This week I am almost certain I am buying my monitor... Is this a good monitor?

Costco - $299.99 after $20 OFF Sceptre 24" W DVI/VGA 2ms 4000:1 300 cd/m² 1920 x 1200 WUXGA

EDIT: I only want one card

Don't plan on doing SLI or Crossfire

Does anyone know if that monitor is any good?

I am buying it tomorrow
