Default why are most the SSD 2.5"

most the SSD hard drives i see are 2.5....im looking for one for my desktop...is there a reason why there are very few 3.5 out there?

Going with 2.5" drives allows them to use the same product for both desktops and laptops.

They make 2.5" to 3.5" adapters for mounting the drives in desktops.

I used these with mine. I painted them black and I also added a fan (not really needed)

Yea ima get an adapter as well, cuz ima get the antec 902 so ima need to stick em in those slots.
I ordered one 80gb for now.

My question is what is the difference between these so SSD -

The first one looks like the OEM product so it will come in a brown box and drive only. The 2nd SSD is a retail box and comes with a 2.5" => 3.5" mount for desktop systems.

Hmm odd, i got the retail one for $250? Must be a mistake from tigerdirect some how.
The OEM is $265 and is in stock, while the one they picked for me (retail) for $250 is backordered for a week now, ugh!

I want my drive already...
