Why is this monitor so cheap!?

I was having a browse on the net when I stumbled across this monitor... the company is respectable and is very large so I suspect it's no scam. They are asking $495 AUD for it.

It's a Chimei CMV-221D/A

The monitor has an amazing 5ms response time! and is 22"!!!! So there has to be a downfall... if so, what is it!

What's so special about it that should make it expensive? It looks fine to me...

It's just a 22" widescreen with a 5ms response time, and a mediocre contrast ratio. Nothing special that I can see...

EDIT: Or maybe 495$ AUD is a lot less than 495$ USD? I dunno...

ya I think 800:1 is standard for most LCD's

yeh my current LG L1717S 17" has a 800:1 contrast ratio....
That is really kinda cheap for over here.... it's about $344 USD

Most 21"/22" LCD's your looking at well over $800 AUD at....

CMV is normally the cheapest brand u can find in australia. at least thats been my experiance but they worked fine for the most part
