I noticed Fry's had the following memory on sale:

Corsair 4 GB DDR3 240-pin Server Memory Kit CMV4GX3M2A1333C9

They call it "server" memory."

What is "server" memory" and will it work in a computer built for gaming purposes?

In the description on scan.co.uk it indicates guaranteed compatibility with all intel and AMD DDR3 systems, which is an unusual claim. Other than that, nothing marks this set out as server memory (normally server memory would have ECC).

Especially given the "extra" compatibility I would be very surprised if it didn't work in your gaming system.

Kmote,

Thanks for helping me understand this. I hope their claims ring true!
