Well, since the 4850 is better than the 9800GTX, which is already better than an 8800GTS, I would say quite a bit better.

If you think you will Xfire later, get this 650 watt:

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CE, CB, TUV, FCC, CCC - Power Supplies

Its $50 off right now and if you do the mail-in-rebate it will bring it down to $90, which is a great deal.

Yay the 650tx's price dropped again.. when I had it recommended yesterday it was $150 on Newegg (stupid Supply and Demand.. thats why I recommended buy.com yesterday.. but if this is first try with Google checkout he'll get it $10 cheaper)

P45's are brand new. X38 overclock just as good and are easier to handle, I think. Same with X48, which are probably better than both P45 and X38. I haven't used a P45 mobo yet or heard of their OCing abilities yet, so I wouldn't entirely know.

and with the 4850's so cheap and effective, a x38 makes sense for crossfire. and the x38/x48 series is by no means a bad oc'ing chipset.
