Default Whcih processor?

I am deciding between two processors. Either an Intel Duo E8400 at $164.99 or a Phenom Quad 9950 at $149.99. Which is better? I have heard AMD is better with gameing and also since it is a quad that it will be better.

The E8400 is the better of those cpu's. The 9950 is one of the old phenoms which weren't that good and don't overclock very well.

If you want an AMD quad, go for the Phenom II. They're newer and much better.

This would perform faster than the 9950:
Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Black Processor - Processors - Desktops

+1 to the 720, it's a great processor.
