whats more important when buying a new video card?

X850Pro is actually worse than the 6800GT. Remember what I said about GeForce 7 and 6 and anything below a Radeon X850XTPE? Only the X1000 series of Radeon cards have Shader Model 3.0 support. Since all the other Radeons lack it (and anything above and including GeForce 6 supports it) that gives the GeForces about a 500 point increase or so, I'd guess.

Shader Model 3.0 (name for Pixel Shader 3.0 and Vertex Shader 3.0) is something used in all modern (respectable) games. You don't NEED it to run the game, but its a performance booster and cards that have it will perform better and also will support more "eye-candy."

and don't forget the drivers. ATI doesn't have very good drivers, their cards tend to suffer with new game releases.

my x850xt with 16 pipes with 522mhz core. go ahead and do the math lol 8353 its a pretty decent video card.
im not showing off or anything because i want a 7800gt i already see the limits on this thing it may beat a 6800 ultra and a 6800gt but there no so hot either. so im already planning on getting a 7800gt and overclocking its core to 500mhz thats 10000 texles per second insane! along with its bandwidth well overclocked and sm3 what a great video card for the price

i dont buy video cards for what they do. i buy them for what they possibly can do lol as i mean overclocked lol


AND SHORTY YOU ARE RIGHT THE 6800GT DOES BEAT THE X850PRO ESPECIALLY HAVING SM3 AND ALL
but i have seen a core clock as high as 620mhz with a x850pro
and its also 220 retail agp on www.bestbuy.com and most have 1.6ns memory which means 1180mhz or you can either flash there bios to x850xt or x850xt pe. my video card use to be a x850pro hehehe but now he is revealing his inner big brother lol which is a 16 pipe x850xt... AND THE 6800GT PCI EXPRESS IS $220$ SHIPPIED FROM NEWEGG AND ITS ALSO A GOOD COMPANY WITH A BIG SOLID COPPER COOLER HERES THE LINK
