If you're going by the reviews on newegg, it's so low because somebody (a kid I assume) got it and it turned out their motherboard didn't support, so they submitted bad votes like 600 times. If you actually read the reviews people left, almost all of them are 4 or 5 star.

Aye, i did some researching and found it tis pretty good.

I picked it up like 7 hours ago (went to see Underworld: Evolution -- totally awesome)

Ima install it 2morrow, rather today = P

I personally like Sony and NEC. ATM im using an NEC, though ive used Sonys in the past i like em a lot

Yeah last ones i had were sonys. Mine and my dads both broke.

i have an HP light scribe and an NEC, and the NEC is a great drive, no problems with it. so is the HP.
