Default Whats a good DVD optical drive?

Ok so i figured out that is only my DVD drive that isnt working. So i contacted the makers, they basically said im s*** outta luck, so i figure i should go out and buy a new DVD drive.

Whats a good dvd drive. I know almost nothing really about DVD drives. Is Memorex a good brand? If so what kind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use LG drives for cheap drives. However Benq and Sony are also great for the money.

good cheap, reliable dvd burners are the NECs. never had a problem with mine and neither has 4 of my other friends with various versions of the same DVD burner. Its also recomended on alot of forums.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152058

Also in a like an hour im going out to get a new DVD drive.

How exactly do i install it? Does SATA make a difference? Can i go out and buy the NEC listed, come home, open up my case, put it in, plug it up and be good?

Also how do i put it into the case. I didnt do it last time, my dad did = (
