Default Whats dual chanel? is getting 1 1gb ram stick better than 2 512s?

Hi,
Ive read somewhere about the board supporting dual chanel or something like that ... what all that about?? Is it better to buy 1 1gb stick or 2 512s??

To support dual channel, 2 sticks of ram are needed and they should be put in certain slots(look in manual).
These slots are often the same colour, but not always.

if you only plan on using 1gb then 2x512mb is a better option, if you would like to have 2gb in the future then you would be better with the 1gb stick. even if two mismatched 1gb sticks are used it would be better than 4x512mb.
