if your worried about crysis and farcry marks then I would go with the gtx card. Nvidia seems to pay crytek under the table or something.

and 3 way 4870x2s is not possible. yet. cuz that would be 6 gpu. crossfire can only handle 4 right know.

GTX 260's for sure. Nothing beats the price for performance ratio right now.

Uhh, on what Crysis settings? All low on 1280 x 1024?

GTX 260s all the way. And although the i7 doesn't bottleneck the 4870 X2s, the performance increase with the crossfire is still not very significant.

More than likely......:freak:

Why bother with this guy....you will make a recommendation and then he won't listen and will go buy a RAIDMAX 500W and Crossfire some 3870X2's more than likely.

Just like with his "ZOMGZ I PWN NOOBZORS WITH MY SLI 8800GTs" that he insisted on a week ago. Pretty much everyone told him to go with the GTX 260s then and he wouldn't listen.

Now look.....he is back on here wanting something different.

18,000 in 3dmark06? And you are talking about 30,000? I am very near you with my setup (16,700), single GPU, a year old dual core CPU, and DDR2 memory. When are you going to start listening ravetech?

whats your problem? just to let you know JACK, that 18,000 is without the cpu score......

overall add another 6743 for my cpu score....roughly 24,743 is my score.....dont jump to conclusions.....

as far as me not listening, money was tight, what would you have done...went with a Q9550 and a 280 GTX now...

or get an i7 now with 2x 8800GT SLI.....upgrade card later?

pretty **** easy decision huh? so thats what i did...this poll is for a month or so maybe more down the road....

petes sake you took my questions to heart didnt you?

chill
