what should i do

i was thinking of getting a 2nd videocard to do sli or w/e but my processor will probobly be a major bottleneck i have a ati x1900xtx and a pentuim d 3.2 what are your thougts

b1gapl 01-02-2007 06:39 PM

I don't think there will be a bottleneck. Oh and by the way, it's called crossfire not sli, since you're using an ATI card. In my opinion it's not necessary to crossfire or sli, unless it's necessary. But if you got the money to burn, then why not. If it were my though, I would use the money to upgrade the processor instead.

You would probably see a better increase in overall system performance if you upgrades that cpu or ram...

mattowns 01-02-2007 06:41 PM

i have 4 gigs of ram so i cant really upgrade that

b1gapl 01-02-2007 06:41 PM

Upgrade your CPU, instead.

mattowns 01-02-2007 06:43 PM

and idk i kinda wanna get the e6400 but idk i get bad fps right now and i think its my video card

PanzerKammander 01-02-2007 06:43 PM

Yeah I agree..

mattowns 01-02-2007 06:47 PM

like in css i get like 100 fps fear i get like 30 which ****es me off

Whirlwind 01-02-2007 07:09 PM

That X1900XTX should dobetter than that in fear.....I think it may be your CPU

Ronnie 01-02-2007 07:11 PM

i dont think its your video card causing it.

the x1900xtx is an amazing card i think if anyhting is causing your problem its either your cpu or your ram

4gb is a total overkill and it will actually make your system run slower
ive never played fear on anything but my core 2 but i have played it with an x800xl in my rig and i got about 60 fps constant so i highlly doubt tis the video card
