Question What to llok for in a Monitor?

Hello,
I was wondering what the most important factors go into choosing a monitor for gaming?
What specifics should i look out for?
(right now i'm looking into a Samsung syncmaster 24")
Thanks!

refresh time under 8ms, contrast over 1000:1. The samsung is supposed to be a good monitor, but apparently there are quite a few panels you can end up with under the same SKU.

2-5ms, at least 1000:1 (or 3000:1 DC), at least 300 cd/m2
