Newegg.com - PNY VCQFX5500-PCIE-PB Quadro FX5500 1GB 256-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

I know it is a high-end digital rendering card or something like that. Some dude said he loaded up two in SLI and ran the crysis demo maxed out at 1650x1250 at over 800 fps. I find this hard to believe.

Anyway, looking at the specs, it doesn't seem like anything too amazing. So what exactly does this card have.

EDIT:"
NVIDIA PureVideo Technology
Next-Generation Vertex and Pixel Programmability
Rotated Grid Full Screen Antialiasing (RG FSAA)
Unmatched Color Precision
High Precision Dynamic Range Imaging (HPDR) Technology

Im guessing its these features that make it so great?

its got nothing... its a Workstation card.. its used for AutoCAD people and such..

Maybe he meant the loading screen was running over 800fps because I can do that too... Theres no way that happened. He is either lying or doesn't know what he is talking about.

probably some uneducated n00b or one of those Joke Reviews... ever heard this one that some1 on the forum put? its on a Pentium D 3.2ghz

"This is way better than the Core 2 Duo e6600 i upgraded from.. its a whole 800mhz faster!! I don't get this Core 2 Duo hype at all!!"

Do you guys know if these workstation cards would be able to run high-end games like crysis at decent FPS. Like what nvidia gaming card does the quadro fx5500 compare to?

seeing that it still uses GDDR2 and that its not designed for gaming... its probably gonna compare with a really low end Geforce card..
