What is this exactly?

I came across this on newegg, and i couldn't decipher what it does exactly. Its kind of like an HTPC? I couldn't understand from the information given what its exact purpose is. Can someone shed some light on it? Thanks.

looks to be like a DVD like player. but instead of DVD's you hook it up to a networked PC with your videos and stuff on it and watch them over your tv. i think.

Not really.

That ioBox is a media streamer. So you would connect it to your network (via router), and it would be able to stream whatever media you share over your network. Music, movies, pictures, etc... So for instance, you have a movie folder in your main computer, and you want to watch it in the living room. Then you would share that movie folder over your network, and then the ioBox will be able to see it and display it on your TV in the living room.

The one that philbar linked is just only for streaming from USB storage devices, that's it.

^ i was close in my description but i said it's similar as in they both play media on your tv. perhaps i should have been clearer.
