Yeah, that's true. If you were still interested in a case, one of the nicer, cheaper cases you can get is the Thermaltake Armor Jr. The one with a window is $50 more on tigerdirect.

Won best case under $150 (American) in Maximum PC this month.

ya... don't use tigerdirect... (unless they have some massive rebate on something..)

www.ncix.com is the best site because they have price matching and is a well known chain so you won't get shafted.

there's also..

www.canacomputer.com (usually cheaper prices.. you could use to price match )

and a lot of other canadian sites..

i could build you something for $1000 ... where in canada do you live? i'll pick out of province for you to save pst

edit: it says ontario, hehe.. so umm.. i'll see what i can do...

ok this is what i have... parts i chose are from www.ncix.com

the cpu i chose has free shipping for the entire order, save some money there! yay!

i dind't really check for price matching.. but the only thing you can price match i believe is the case.. you'll save like 8 or 9 bucks.. (if you feel like going through the trouble...)

you're from ontario, so you'll only pay 6% GST.. (ncix is in bc)

also, to get ncix's better pricing, you have to be a member! or else you'll get crappy pricing... (membership is free and only takes a few seconds..)

motherboard: Asus M2N-E $113

cpu: AMD X2 4200+ $220

gpu: PNY 7900gt $300 - $20 mail in rebate

memory: 2gb OCZ DDR2 $240 - $40 mail in rebate

case: $66.30

total: 939.24 + gst = $995.60 - $60 mail in rebate = $935.60

and you can also do the 8 bucks or so price match..

hope that helps

(i recommend you use integrated audio, and if you feel like you need a seperate sound card, you can upgrade down the road.. no need to strain your budget now.. )
