what to buy??9800gtx or 4870??

hi all, i wanna upgrade my old 7900gtx..problem deciding which one should i get..overall all benchmarks i have seen..4870 performs slightly better than the 9800gtx. example

what resolution do you play, a 4850 or 9800gtx + may suffise your needs quite easaly.

The 4870 is significantly faster than the 9800gtx. The HD 4850 is also faster than the 9800gtx and should be cheaper.

I recommend getting the HD 4870 or HD 4850 depending on the resolution you game at.

The 4870 is much better than the 9800GTX in almost every situation! Heck, even the 4850 performs better than the 9800GTX. It really would be more of a choice between 4870 and GTX 260 or 4850 and 9800GTX. If you are picking between those two choices, go with the 4870.

I don't know how you can judge a card by watching poor quality youtube videos. Just check out any of the reviews put out by all the major tech websites and you will see the HD 4850/4870 dominance.

i will be playing on 1440x900.. and i want decent framerates too..sometimes i will hooked another monitor up for csing..currently using my 7900gtx medium on crysis..moving around is not so smooth..

surgevel..thanks 4 ur advise..i think i will settle for a 4870..do u think 630W psu is enough for 1 4870 and which manufacturer shuld i go for??

also with dirver improvements f rom nvidia i think the gtx 260 is catchign up, and teh core 216 is faster then it for sure.
