Seagate have the lowest failure rate of all drives. And all of their drives have 5 year warranties.

Seagate is the most highly recommended HD there is pretty much. Western Digital aren't bad though, they are a little cheaper. You get what you pay for.

There was a poll about this awhile ago which I believe WD won. Though you wouldn't be able to tell that from this thread so far.

I don't remember that.

Anyway, all of the drives I have are Seagates. only one has died, and that was my fault.

The new Seagates are slightly louder than the WD's but have a 5yr warranty compared to 3yr. Both are pretty reliable, I've always used WD and never had a hd fail on me, but I ended up buying a 320gb Seagate for my new build because it was a better price per gig. Do some math Also, Samsung Spinpoints are some of the quietest, not sure about their reliability though.
