Question What is the best video card for gaming on a 17" monitor?

I want to know what the best video card for gaming on a 17" monitor with a resolution of 1440 x 900 ? I want to be able to play new games such as crysis and far cry 2 and other stuff like that. I was thinking about the 9800 GTX or 9800 GTX+ but I was thinking I could get away with a cheaper card, but nothing over $200.

a 9800gtx+ would suit your needs fine.

You really need no more than a HD 4830 or 9800GT... but those are fine (but overkill)

But I thought 1440x900 was for 19'' Widescreeners

Get a 3870 GDDR4 or the 9600 GSO instead.

Both will handle that resolution with no problems.

but the 9800 will be more future proof and handle higher resolutions better.

ok i might go down to a 9800GT or 9600GSO, but philbar71 is right it will be future proof.
