Default what is the best bang for the buck CPU right now?

I'm buying the P35C mobo from gigabyte so I can use 45nm processors in the future, so I would like to know what's currently the best bang for the buck processor so I can just save money for a 45nm processor later.

Thanks a lot buddies!

hmmm, is this better than the E6300 because I can get an E6300 for $100 from Dell using a coupon.

btw, is this even a good idea or should I just go for the Q6600? I do have the money, but doesn't mean I should spend it. Thanks

at stock speeds yes.... 2.0ghz to 1.86ghz... but the e2180 has 1MB cache as opposed to the e6300 which has 2mb

The E2180 thread - Budget Build - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

but look here.. people having been getting killer clocks with this thing because of the M0 stepping

I just ordered the E2180. I'll see what I can do with this thing. Definitely the dual core, to go with.

Do you think this is even better bang for the buck than the E6750 @ 192? Thanks

i'd go for the E2140, E2160 or E2180, overclock like crazy and then buy the 45nm when it comes out.

I think it will, if you can get it up to 3.6GHz...I mean 3.6GHz for $90? That's bang for your buck right there. 3.3-3.6GHz, I think is the average for them.

I'm keeping my e6400, and selling the Q6600 to nosboost.
