I'm buying the P35C mobo from gigabyte so I can use 45nm processors in the future, so I would like to know what's currently the best bang for the buck processor so I can just save money for a 45nm processor later.

Thanks a lot buddies!

e2180 or any e6x50 series out now.... but the e2180 is better and a killer overclocker

hmmm, is this better than the E6300 because I can get an E6300 for $100 from Dell using a coupon.

btw, is this even a good idea or should I just go for the Q6600? I do have the money, but doesn't mean I should spend it. Thanks

that's pretty nice. ClubIT is having the E6750 for $192 shipped... Man, tough calls. Any more input appreciated. Thanks for the info so far.

I just ordered the E2180. I'll see what I can do with this thing. Definitely the dual core, to go with.

so your gonna replace that e6400 build with the e2180 and throw it in that system?

i'd go for the E2140, E2160 or E2180, overclock like crazy and then buy the 45nm when it comes out.

Do you think this is even better bang for the buck than the E6750 @ 192? Thanks

I think it will, if you can get it up to 3.6GHz...I mean 3.6GHz for $90? That's bang for your buck right there. 3.3-3.6GHz, I think is the average for them.

so your gonna replace that e6400 build with the e2180 and throw it in that system?

I'm keeping my e6400, and selling the Q6600 to nosboost.
