The amd 4000 and x2 3800 perfomr almost equally on some game benchmarks, however on 35mark05 on the cpu test, the 3800x2 dominates the 4000. You have to keep inmind though that the x2's are as powerfull as two cpu's. Unfortunetly, most games lack the abilty to take full advantage of dual core technology, so as of now dual cores are only usefull for hard core cpu work like server work, proffesional workstations, or other stuff that requires mass power and number crunching like video compression.

Still, you will see improvement with dual cores as one core completes all the background programs and the other core focuses on the games. It's kind of like having your personal robot taking out the trash and doing schoolwork while you play around with your computer all day
