I'm impressed, but not all that impressed. Overall system perfomance has improved although I believe the limiting factor in my system ins the AMD 3500+ Venice which is my main bottleneck. I was, however, amazed that the 10k spindle in these drives are so quiet (unlike seagate cheatah's SCSI's which are pretty noisy). I was impressed with the 1000 point increase that took place in 3dmark03 that went from 15375 to 16410.

Bottom line......buy the improved 76Gb Raptor but they are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to expensive for the miminal system performance they provide. I only paid $120 inc shipping for 2 36gig raptors so I am feeling okay about the upgrade.:p These drives may make more sense with Vista and future system improvements? Could I see an bigger improvment with a dual core CPU?
