well kinda in the catagory

i want to pursuade my friend to join tech forum and also when hes buying new pc compenents and i show him quotes from here as to why somthing is better than another he says "yeah well where are you getting your source from?" so i tell him "this forum, its badass they always answer my questions along with more helpful info" how can i proove to him that majority of you guys know what your talking about?

Well when you group up a few hundreed tech guys, we have to be right.

It's hard to prove you know what your talking about when it comes to this part vs this part. Their is no certifacation course for what parts are better. And it's also a matter of opinion.

Another good rule of thumb to follow is that the most popular is almost never the best (Intel, Asus ect)

Ouch, I personally find my ASUS MoBo to be a fine mobo, granted I dont OC though hehe.
