I have built in the past, but certain things made me sell off my parts. I am using an iMac now, but i want something for games on the new dell 20" monitor i am getting. I still have the following from my last build:power supply(OCZ modstream)
Optical drives
Hard Drive(its in an enclosure now, i would take it out probably)

i want to build an e6300 system.
Basically i need to see which case, mobo, ram and gfx card you reccomend(am i forgetting anything, its been a while)
I will be running games such as BF2,COD2,Quake 4 on this system. I dont want to spend a lot.

sorry, is there any disadvantage to building a 939 system now? if not, i would also consider that. I could get:
3700+
dfi ultra-d open box(65)
i already have a gig of kingston hyper-x from my old system
antec p180(good case i think)
evga 7800gt refurb(190)
and that would only coast me 465
lol. the things i had in my last build have gotten dirt cheap.

Go with this:

CPU- Intel CD2 e6300- $180
Motherboard- Foxconn 945P7AA-8EKRS2- $90
Ram- A-DATA Vitesta 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 533- $150
Video Card- eVGA 7900GS- $210

Total- $630
Great Build for that Price

Going with Socket 939 is also great. If you have stuff you can still use, I say save the money and go with 939. The 7900GS is great bang for the buck
