Widescreen all the way. I have a 19'' widescreen and I love it.

widescreen is awesome. i have 19". if you can rotate the monitor to stand on its side then its very good for typing papers. so instead of having the monitor being "wide" you put it so the screen is "tall" and narrow. you can see the entire page when you put the monitor on its side. you can rotate the screen by using NVrotate if you use the latest nvidia drivers. i'm sure ati also has something like that.
