Default Video Encoding Build

You all have been very helpful over the time that I have found these forums when I was setting up my build so I come to you again, my g/f is looking to upgrade as well but her main goal is video encoding/editing & from everything I've read Intel is the way to go... unforunately everything I learned when I was looking to upgrade was AMD related... Suggestions please... really looking at what mobo & cpu are the best & most reliable?

Thanks again!

For the desktop, the AMD X2 is the best.

It you wan't to overclock, I would get one of those motherboards that supports the dual core duo (laptop CPU) and overclock it. It will go faster than an X2.

You should wait for Intel "Conroe" which will be a lot faster than anything currently out.
