The 2900 deserved to be bashed when it was released as it just sucked...it has gotten better but it still really isn;t worth the money

Here is a recent benchmark for HD2900XT (with the latest driver)

Diamond's Radeon HD 2900 XT 1GB graphics card - The Tech Report - Page 1

HD2900XT barely beats 8800GTS

And 8800GTX beats both HD2900XT 512MB and HD2900XT 1GB

This coming from a hard-core fanboy...

I've played both sides of the fence, and both get the job done. ATI allows me to Fold on the GPU, whereas NVIDIA doesn't, so there's what made my decision. My 7800GTX was still cranking along when I pulled it and passed it along.
