Default Vid Card help.

Hi guys. I am currently building a new rig and I have most of my parts. I need to get a video card and I am not sure which way path to take. Not sure whether to get an ATi 5870 or go with the new Nvidia gtx 470. They are both around the same price and the heat that the 470 puts off won't be a problem. If anyone could help and better yet give us pros and cons that would be awesome.

Thanks again.

Overall the 5870 is a better card so if you can afford it, get that. The gtx 470 comes closer to the 5870 when heavily overclocked which will produce a lot of heat, unless you have water or decent aftermarket you'll be limited by temps. The gtx 470 is better some of the newer games featuring tessellation like just cause 2 and some other nvidia games like farcry. having said that ATi cards have its advantaged games a well. The only advantages of the gtx 470 over the 5870 is CUDA+ and tessellation really, otherwise the 5870 is better.
