Default Vid Card Decision

Ok so i was narrowing it down between a GeForce 6600 GT or the ATI x850 XT PE. I know the latter outperforms but i'm not that hardcore and im sure both would fit my needs. I am more worried about which is more stable, which is louder (or quieter) and which takes up a lot of hte computers power supply. if anyone can shed some light, i'd appreciate it. thanks ahead of time

Stability: Same. The ATI will lag less graphicwise is games though.
Sound: Not sure. I can't hear my 6600GT over the rest of my fans though, so I don't think that noise will be a problem for either.
PSU Consumption: The X850 will use more because it is a more powerful card.

u wont really notice the fan difference, the 6600 GT would probably be better for the money ur spending.

how about a 6800 plain?
they're not much more than the 6600's, but have more pipes, and you can unlock 4 more

i upgraded from a 6600gt which i got approx. 50-70fps on bf2 on medium settings to a 6800gt...i now get about 80-100fps on high settings execpt for texture filtering which is on medium. For the price of the 6800gt i love it...but now i want the 7800gtx =[

If you want absolute quietness, then you should buy a Zalman vf700 cu.
