Default Using RAID configuration on PCI

I had a question about setting up a RAID config from a PCI Card (RAID) controller.

In CMOS, does the Boot sequence need to be adjusted, to read (boot) from the specific RAID controller installed PCI card, given that the HDs are connected directly to that card (as opposed to an IDE/SATA to the mobo)? I guess BIOS will detect the RAID PCI card...
If anyone has experience in utilizing a RAID PCI card setup.
