Default Upgrading PC

Hi all,

Firstly I want to say Hi, I am new to the Forums and hope you don't mind me posting here.

Secondly, I currently have a:
AMD Athlon XP 1800+
1 gig of Ram
40 Gig hard drive
ATI Radeon 9250
Old Biostar M7VIG Pro Motherboard

Now I know this is a very low spec system but I do play Battlefield 2 alot but since the update they have completely messed up the Radeon 92** range. I also like to play Counter Strike and Day of Deafeat and both in Source sometimes aswell.

Now I want to know what would be an upgrade.
I have looked at:
AMD Athlon 64 3700 San Diego
Abit Motherboard
Nvidia GeForce Motherboard

This is extremely expensive and I was wondering if there would be a better/cheaper option?

Just wondering what would be good?

Thanks very much to all!
