Upgrading and OC Help

Hey

So I'm going to buy a 2nd Evga gtx 570 and setup sli.

I have an i7-2600 and a TX850w psu at the moment but i'm wondering if my PSU will handle OC'ing in both the cpu and the gpu's.

>CPU: 2600 @ 4.1-4.2 ghz
>Gpu: 570 @ (870/1740/2000 @1.05v)

I'm not sure what the wattage would bounce to once I OC.

Also on the motherboard, I only have 2 pci-e slots (x16 and x8). I'm new to sli so how do i make sure I receive a x8/x8 data transfer rather than a x16/x1 transfer.

Is your i7 2600 a K model or is it the standard model? If it's a K model are you using the stock heatsink or an aftermarket solution? The i7 2600K will easily overclock to the 4GHz range with the stock heatsink, with the standard i7 2600 you won't make 4GHz stable.

With (2) 570 and a highly overclocked cpu you might reach 700-750W max., the Corsair TX850 should be good to go.

it is the standard no k cpu with a V6 heatsink... I've heard that the cpu can be oc'ed to that level safely but i'm away from my desktop so I'm not sure if that is true. thanks

You can only overclock the non K cpu by adjusting the BCLK speed. You might get lucky but your only going to increase the BCLK by a few MHz from what I've seen.
