Well the best increase in performance would be, to go from 4200 to 7200rpm. It's just that, I think the 7200rpm will create a lot of heat in a laptop, unless you keep your laptop cool.

well how do you mean keep it cool? the way it has now, one of the vents for the fan is blocked off, but i could un block it...i don't know why they had it blocked

thats what i thought. so i should go for a 160gb, 5400rpm. and that would be the best way to increase performance

The 5400rpm is not a big jump from 4200rpm, but it is a jump. You get more space too. Or if you really want a 7200rpm, maybe you should get a laptop cooler.

ok thats what i thought. i would rather not have to use one of those, but i suppose if it would mean increased performance i would do it. i basically just want the most powerful system i can afford
